Carried out by Chartered Surveyors, building surveys (as opposed to Home Buyer Reports) are typically carried out on older (50+ years) or listed buildings or where the buyer is planning on major works to the property.

So what might be included in a Building Survey report?
โ general condition of a property
โ identifiable defects
โ any structural movement, subsidence or settlement
โ detail of any rot or infestations such as woodworm
โ alterations that may have been made to the property
โ energy performance
โ building services such as plumbing, drainage and electrics
โ details of deterioration due to rising damp or surface condensation for example
